Background
Since its inception, fiberoptic bronchoscopy has helped in delineating etiologies of respiratory failure to facilitate tailored therapy. Bronchoscopy is widely used as a diagnostic tool in immunocompromised (IC) patients. However there are concerns regarding worsening hypoxemia during FOB in these high-risk patients
Objective
To examine the effectiveness and safety of HFNC in comparison to low flow nasal cannula or face mask during bronchoscopy in IC hypoxemic patients with respiratory failure.
